Food for Maine’s Future Annual Membership Meeting
February 9th, 9am-2pm (potluck lunch and informal discussion from 12-2pm)
Maine State Grange, 146 State St, Augusta (link to directions)
This meeting will focus on the 126th Maine Legislative Session which includes bills on raw milk sales, on-farm poultry slaughter, food sovereignty, GMO labeling, and other small-farm and rural living issues that Food for Maine’s Future has championed over the last 6 years. This is an important time for the small farmers and patrons of Maine to be heard in Augusta. Come learn what’s on the legislative table and how you can be involved in creating the voice of Food for Maine’s Future.
Other agenda items include:
2013 Program Overview
Report from Local Food RULES, Hancock County FMF Chapter (Discussion time on creating county or local chapters following lunch)
Farm Foreclosure Prevention
Do you have something pressing to bring to the membership? Contact board president Betsy Garrold to discuss having the item added to the agenda.
Please bring a potluck dish to share and a plate, bowl, and utensils. We look forward to breaking bread together.
